The article presents one of the ways of scientific and methodological support for determining the effectiveness of educational work at the university. The topic of the organization of educational work is relevant and in demand in practice. To assess motivation and attitude to the profession, the authors use the methodology of Krylova A.V., Ignatkova I.A., which allows to identify the nature of professional motivation and attitude among students during their studies at the university; as well as to study the dynamics of these indicators among students at different stages of training. As a result of the ascertaining study, a low attitude to professional activity was revealed, the importance of the profession is at the stage of formation; students have practically no desire to improve in their chosen activity, and students are not confident in the prospects of their future professional activity. A smaller number of respondents chose internal motives that imply a high interest in the profession, the acquisition of deep knowledge, self-realization self-improvement. Many students doubt that they chose their direction completely independently and consciously. In accordance with the results obtained, the authors propose specific educational measures aimed at forming students' motivation.
