This article presents a comparative growth and developmental assessment indicators of Holstein breed repair heifers obtained from different bulls. Given the intensity of milk production today, it is very important to monitor the quality of growing young stock, which replaces the main milking stock. We took into account the main indicators of primary intrinsic productivity of repair heifers: live weight dynamics, absolute and daily average growth, relative rate of growth, as well as the age and weight of the first fruitful insemination. It was found that daughters of Progen Orion bull of Reflexion Sovering line have a number of superiorities in growth and development indicators over daughters of Denovo Halstead bull of Vis Back Aidial line. However, by eighteen months of life this difference is almost imperceptible, growth and development indicators of the studied animals are approximately at the same level. Progeny of Progen Orion bull of Reflexion Sovering line reach the necessary weight for insemination at an earlier age, this may contribute to faster herd turnover and thus favor breeding economic efficiency stock in the future.
Keywords: repair heifers, Holstein breed, growth, development, live weight dynamics, absolute gain, average daily gain, relative growth rate.
