The article presents an analysis of the behavior of service dogs of two breeds (German Shepherd and Malinois) based on testing data conducted in the departmental kennel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Belgian Shepherds show higher scores in activity, aggressive and defensive attitude to a human attack, in a stable attitude to a shot and confidence in behavior in unfamiliar rooms. For the rest of the indicators, the values are approximately the same, except for the strength of GNI and self-confidence. The results of German Shepherds are higher than those of Belgian malinois. In addition, it was found that German and Belgian shepherds in the majority belong to a moderately excitable type - 78.6% and 56%, respectively, but in Belgian shepherds 44% of dogs belong to the excitable type, among German shepherds there are calm ones, and among Belgian ones there are none.
